Brigham MD guides policy on reforming WHO in the aftermath of Ebola
Ranu Dhillon, MD of the BWH Division of Global Health Equity and Professor Joel Naigin of Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney, offer recommendations for reform of the WHO based on a close study of the 2013 Ebola response. The British Medical Journal published Outsourcing: How to reform WHO for the 21st century on September 12, 2016. The piece was followed up with coverage in the Guardian. The Guardian describes the conclusions of Dr. Dhillon and Naigin advising a fundamental overhaul of WHO to avoid loss of funding, and warning that WHO is at risk of repeating mistakes of the Ebola crisis.
